Master's thesis in Accounting and auditing (BE508) Fokuset på samfunnsansvar har de sisteårene økt både blant forbrukere, investorer og næringslivet generelt. Store foretak har siden 2013 vært pålagt å rapportere om sitt samfunnsansvar i henhold til regnskapsloven § 3-3 c. Flere norske selskaper får imidlertid kritikk for sin rapportering. Revisor er i henhold til revisorloven § 5-1 pålagt å kontrollere at selskapenes redegjørelser om samfunnsansvar er i samsvar med lov og forskrift, og om opplysningene er konsistent med årsregnskapet.
